Artist Statement
The words that I live by are “art disturbs the comfortable and comforts the disturbed.” I believe that every piece of art has its audience and its critics. I abide by this statement in every work that I create. Whether it’s a photo for my friends or a painting for a competition. This allows me to truly be myself and create whatever I’m feeling. No matter who is watching.
All my life, my family has controlled every aspect of my life. I won’t let them get in the way of my art. That is why I think it’s important to just create. Every artwork will have someone who loves it and someone who hates it. Don’t let them influence you.
Bio
Why do I do what I do, you may ask? Well, I lived a rough childhood and have suffered from anxiety and severe depression for as long as I can remember. For a while there, art was my escape. My way to feel okay. Little did I know that I would end up wanting to make it a career. Inspiring others and becoming a part of such a unique and beautiful community. I’ve always been inspired by others, and now I want to do the same. To show people they’re not alone in this cruel place. I want to stand up and do something about the current state of our world. Spreading awareness and information is where it starts, and what better way to do that than to create art that does exactly that? Art used to be my escape, but now it's my way to show others they aren't alone. To build a community.
